Zum dritten Mal in Folge hat das Bach-Gymnasium wieder einen Mitmach-Stand bei explore science. Die diesjährigen naturwissenschaftlichen Erlebnistage der Klaus Tschira Stiftung finden vom 22. bis 26. Mai im Luisenpark statt. Das Motto lautet „Zeit“ und wir tauchen ein in die Zeit der alten Seefahrer, als es noch kein GPS und keine vollständigen Seekarten gab.
Bei uns kann man erfahren, wie die Seefahrer damals ihre genaue Position zu bestimmen versuchten und warum ihnen das lange Zeit nicht gut gelang. Erst als John Harrison eine hochpräzise Uhr erfand, war es möglich, mit Hilfe von Breiten- und Längengraden zu navigieren. An unserem Stand können die Besucher einen Pendelquadranten basteln und lernen, wie man damit den Breitengrad bestimmt. Sie können Experimente zur Zeitmessung durchführen und erfahren, warum John Harrisons Uhr auch auf einem schwankenden Schiff immer genau ging. Darüber hinaus können sie im Segelschiffwettrennen gegeneinander antreten und die Geschwindigkeit ihres Schiffes in Knoten bestimmen.
Unser Stand mit der Nummer 52 wird betreut von Schülerinnen und Schülern der 9. und 10. Klassen. Sie alle freuen sich über viele neugierige Besucher!
